Every Ghyean is bound at birth to a single life they vow to protect, and the Assembly gathers whenever a root is broken.

Judgments are carved into standing rock so that no verdict can be quietly rewritten by a later season.

A Ghyean's household is counted not by blood but by the vow they carry — one life protected until it is safely grown.

Once a year, every vow is renewed before the Assembly, and the soil itself is said to remember who kept theirs.
